Student Books

Informational texts written by the Lawrence Hall of Science allow students to practice reading within the science content area. Every unit at the K–5 level includes five unique Student Books, with eighteen copies of each title being included in the unit kit. Kits for kindergarten and grade 1 units also include a copy of each book in oversized “Big Book,” enabling teachers to read aloud to their young students.

The Student Books are an important part of the K–5 curriculum—they encourage students to read purposefully, look for evidence to support their claim, and ask questions as they read.
