Benchmark assessments
Amplify’s NGSS-aligned benchmark assessments provide insight into how students are progressing toward mastery of the NGSS standards ahead of high-stakes, end-of-year assessments. The benchmark assessments measure and report on the three dimensions and performance expectations of the NGSS and are designed to test all standards across all grades.
Delivered digitally via QTI files in the school’s QTI-compliant assessment platform, or via paper from PDF files, the benchmark assessments are given four times per year in grades 3-5 and three times per year in grades 6-8. Each benchmark assessment is designed to be administered in 90-minute sessions and are structured in two segments:
- Segment A: A sequence of discrete items that measure performance-expectation-aligned NGSS dimensions.
- Segment B: A series of performance-expectation-aligned item clusters or performance tasks.
