Amplify Desmos Math Beta Release
What is the Amplify Desmos Math Beta Release?
The 2024–25 school year is the Beta Release of Amplify Desmos Math ahead of the program’s full commercial release in 2025–26. During the Beta year, some in-development program features are not yet available, and program content will be released on a rolling basis as we complete development.
We appreciate your patience as we put the finishing touches on the Amplify Desmos Math program, and we hope you’ll feel compelled to share your thoughts with us as you explore and experience the program with your students.
What is the duration of the Amplify Desmos Math Beta Release?
The Amplify Desmos Math Beta will last throughout the 2024–25 school year. Your institution may have chosen to preview the program for a three-month, half-year, or full-year pilot. The materials you receive for 2024–25 will depend on the duration of your pilot and the time of year you chose to implement Amplify Desmos Math.
Please speak to your program manager if you have questions about the timing or duration of your pilot.
As an Amplify Desmos Math Beta Release participant, what should I expect this year?
Amplify Desmos Math is a new, curiosity-driven program that supports you in building your students’ lifelong math proficiency. As Amplify Desmos Math Beta participants, you are being granted first access to this program. While we have reviewed Amplify Desmos Math diligently prior to publication, this is the first time we have printed Teacher and Student Editions. We’re also putting the finishing touches on our many differentiation and intervention resources, so not all lessons will have mini-lessons, extensions, or personalized practice available this year. That said, we will continue rolling out Amplify Desmos Math features to you throughout the school year. You can learn more about the specific timeline for these releases on the Amplify Desmos Math Beta website. We welcome any feedback you would like to share, and we will take your responses and suggestions into consideration as we work toward the release of Amplify Desmos Math for the 2025–26 school year.

If your institution is participating in a 3-month or half-year pilot, you will receive a subset of these materials when you implement your Amplify Desmos Math program. The specific volumes you receive will depend on the grades covered by your program and the date of your implementation.
Grades K–5 and Algebra 1 participants will receive one volume of the Teacher and Student Editions for the 3-month pilot and two volumes for a half-year pilot.
Grades 6–8 participants will receive one volume of the Teacher and Student Editions for both the 3-month and half-year pilots.
These Teacher and Student Editions will be clearly labeled as "Beta Release", and they will be exclusively for use in the 2024–25 school year.
Additionally, your ancillary resources, including blackline masters and K–5 student-facing materials, will be available as PDFs on the platform for you to print and copy.
What materials will I receive for the 2025–2026 school year?
In 2025–26, we will release new Teacher and Student Editions, streamlining K–5 and Algebra 1 so these materials are organized into two volumes instead of four. Blackline masters available as PDFs in the 2024–25 school year will be available as printed books in 2025–26. K–5 student-facing materials available as PDFs in 2024–25 will be available as editable Google Docs in 2025–26. Finally, manipulative kits are available for purchase to support the mathematics teaching and learning experience for grades K–5. Opportunities to use hands-on manipulatives are provided in grades 6–Algebra 1, but are optional.
Will I be able to use the Amplify Desmos Math Beta materials after the 2024–2025 school year?
As mentioned previously, we will release new Teacher and Student Editions for the 2025–26 school year to replace the materials you received during the Amplify Desmos Math Beta Release. In addition to being revised and streamlined, they will be updated to match any changes made to the digital program based on your experiences this year. If you continue to use the Beta materials after 2024–25, you will encounter differences between your print materials and the digital experience.
Will all my collections and custom activities from the Beta Release be available after the 2024–2025 school year?
Yes, if you implement Amplify Desmos Math for the 2025–2026 school year.

Lesson Facilitation
What is the total number of instructional days?
Amplify Desmos Math provides an average of 32 days of flex time in a 180-day school year. Exact counts vary by grade and can be found in the scope and sequence:
How long are Amplify Desmos Math lessons? Does that include Centers, By Heart Fluency, Math Adventures, or Boost Personalized Learning?
Core lesson instruction is designed to take 60 minutes in K–5 and 45 minutes in 6–A1. Additional resources — Boost Personalized Learning, Mini-Lessons, Centers — are provided for differentiation purposes, to be used during small group instruction time, assess and respond days, or flex days built into our scope and sequence.
How do you incorporate Mini-Lessons into the curriculum?
Mini-Lessons are 15-minute, small-group direct instruction lessons targeted to a specific concept or skill. Mini-Lessons are support resources for differentiation, informed by prerequisite checks, exit tickets, and end-of-unit assessments. They are done in small groups or larger groups after the lesson.
What are the checklists available in K–1?
Checklists in K–1 support you when assessing skills and concepts best assessed via observation, such as 1:1 matching when counting, or counting backwards from 20. Checklists are best used while students are working.
Does the due date prevent my students from accessing an activity after it is due?
No. After the due date, assignments can be accessed by clicking Past Work on Student Home for K–5 and in the Stream on Student Home for grades 6–8.
How do teachers share a single dashboard?
In Amplify Desmos Math, you can assign lessons and activities, giving co-teachers access to them via the Stream on Educator Home before they become available to your students.
What is the percentage of print vs. digital materials in Amplify Desmos Math?
The percentage of print materials changes as students become more proficient on the digital platform. For K–1 students, only 10 percent of the program is available digitally. That increases to 15 percent for students in grades 2–3, and 20 percent for students in grades 4–5. For 6–A1, this increases to 70 percent, but every lesson in every grade can be 100 percent print.
When K–5 is released commercially, will districts have the option of purchasing digital only?
A digital-only implementation is not available for K–5. Between 80 and 90 percent of the lessons in these grades are meant to have a print or hands-on student experience.
Can Amplify Desmos Math be taught 100% digitally?
No. Some lessons in Amplify Desmos Math require the use of print Student Editions and teacher presentation screens instead of having students use digital activity screens. You can print the Student Edition PDFs from the platform.
When will Spanish be available?
Student-facing Spanish support is available for grades 6–8 in the digital platform for the 2024–25 school year, with print Spanish Student Edition pages released on a rolling basis throughout the year. For grades K–5 and A1, student-facing Spanish support will be released in 2025–26.
Where are the family/caregiver resources?
These resources will be found on a caregiver support site that will be available this fall.
