This article is intended for administrators who used mCLASS enrollment to roster staff and students for the 2024–2025 school year. At the end of this school year, we will retire mCLASS-specific enrollment methods. Please review the information in this article to see rostering options available via the Amplify Admin Portal that correspond to the mCLASS enrollment methods you’ve used previously.
Note: Once your district has started classes and you have begun your Amplify curriculum and/or assessment programs, changing enrollment sources can be highly disruptive and is discouraged. If your district has extenuating circumstances that require you to change how you enroll, please contact your Customer Success partner.
Rostering Options
Three rostering options are available through the Admin Portal that correspond to mCLASS enrollment methods.
Current Application | Corresponding Application (2025–2026) |
Batch upload rosters and student demographics in the Admin Portal.
Manually enter enrollment records in the Admin Portal.
Use the Amplify OneRoster Upload Portal to queue and automatically sync OneRoster-compliant CSV files. |
During implementation, your enrollment contact will work with you to determine your ID settings and data sharing policies. Your staff and student rosters will need to be current in an Amplify-supported enrollment system before mCLASS assessment can begin.
Batch Upload
Batch Upload is a self-service feature available for enrollment administrators to bulk upload enrollment and rostering data. Whereas mCLASS SSE uses five CSV files to enroll and roster your staff and students, Batch Upload uses just two: a file to add or update staff, students, and classes, and a file to submit student demographics data.
Batch Upload can be used in conjunction with Manual Enrollment.
Manual Enrollment
You can use the Admin Portal to add or manage a small number of records at any time by entering the information directly into Staff, Student, and Class records. When you manually update these records, saving them immediately replaces what’s currently in the Admin Portal.
Manual Upload can be used in conjunction with Batch Enrollment.
Amplify OneRoster Upload Portal
Amplify OneRoster Upload Portal SFTP import provides a secure landing zone where you can queue OneRoster-compliant enrollment files for manual sync or to sync automatically on a predefined schedule. These syncs add, update, or replace records in the upload portal using the currently queued CSV files; any data errors or data quality issues are flagged in the portal and, when configured, by email.
