This video walk-through will help you navigate the mCLASS Student Platform.

Getting started with online assessment

Before students take online assessments, they need to have assessments assigned to them. After assigning assessments to your students, you can get them started with online assessment.

To get your students started, make sure they have a compatible device and headphones, give them their login credentials, and direct them to the student assessment portal.

Navigating online assessments

  1. To access online assessments, students log in through single sign-on or learning.amplify.com.

Students land on Student Home. Student Home appears different depending on the student’s grade level and the Amplify programs their school uses. See mCLASS: Educator Home and Student Home for more information.

  2. Students click mCLASS Literacy.
    The mCLASS Welcome screen displays.

  • The name of the logged in student displays at the top left of the navigation bar.
The backpack icon (click to navigate to other Amplify programs) and door icon (log out) display at the top right of the navigation bar.

  • The accessibility settings icon displays at the top right of the screen. Students click it to use accessibility features, such as closed captions.

  • The time of year displays in the middle of the screen (if the assessments assigned are progress monitoring, Progress Monitoring displays).

  • The Start button displays for English assessments, or Comenzar for Spanish assessments. (This button changes to Resume or Reanudar when students take measures with multiple tasks, such as mCLASS Vocabulary or mCLASS Vocabulary Español.)

  • The assessments assigned to the student display at the bottom of the screen. The star is not filled in, indicating that the student has not yet taken the assessment.

Taking an online assessment

  1. Students click Start or Comenzar to begin the assessment.
Detailed assessment instructions are available in the Help for each measure.

  2. After completing the assessment, students return to the Welcome screen.
The star for the assessment is filled in to indicate that it is complete.

  3. Students may take any additional assessments assigned to them, or click the door icon to log out.
