Managing user identifiers in Amplify enrollment and rostering

Updated over 7 months ago

The user Identifiers (IDs) you share with Amplify, as part of your rostering data for each staff and student user, must be unique throughout your district and cannot be shared by multiple users. When providing this information on the Digital Onboarding Page, please ensure that you select an ID field that is specific to your rostering data source. The chart below provides the ID fields available for each of the rostering data source options.

The user IDs shared in your rostering data are visible in mCLASSⓇ Reporting and Analysis Suite (RAS) Download your data (DYD) Reports. If you have previously used any Amplify products or mCLASS assessments, it is important that the IDs for each staff and student user are not changed. If you plan to change the ID value(s) shared previously, please contact Amplify Customer Care and Support to avoid issues that could result in loss of access to your Amplify programs or data loss, including previous mCLASS assessment data.

If you need help determining which IDs are required for your reporting needs, please reach out to Amplify Customer Care and Support. For districts that need to report students with their State ID, we recommend the state ID is configured as a secondary ID.

Primary IDs

Primary IDs are identifiers assigned by your district to students or staff and shared with Amplify programs and mCLASS. Primary IDs serve as the main identification numbers for your enrollment and rostering data and must remain stable and exclusive to each student or staff member within your district.

Amplify recommends the student primary ID be available upon enrollment in order to ensure a smooth rostering experience. If the ID you want to use as the primary ID is not available upon enrollment, contact Amplify Customer Care and Support.

Amplify standardizes column names in the RAS DYD reports. Refer to the RAS DIBELS 8th Edition DYD data dictionary for more information about the column headers provided in the report.

Changing the primary user ID values can cause data loss and loss of access to Amplify programs. Amplify does not recommend changing the designated primary ID after the first benchmark window opens.

Secondary IDs

Sharing a Secondary ID is optional and only expected for organizations that have state and regional reporting requirements. If your state or region requires your organization to have Secondary IDs present in reporting, provide these ID fields in the Secondary ID fields located on the Digital Onboarding Page. Below are examples of states/regions that currently use Secondary IDs with Amplify for reporting purposes:

  • Alabama

  • Massachusetts

  • NC DPI

  • Tennessee

  • Texas

  • Colorado

  • Alaska

  • Ohio

Secondary IDs or any additional IDs can be changed throughout the school year. Changes to these fields will not cause data loss or loss of access to Amplify programs.
