Adding Class Display Names in Batch Upload
Updated over a week ago

Each class has a Class Name and an optional Display Name. Unless a Display Name is specified, the Class Name will display. When a Display Name is entered, it replaces the Class Name in Amplify programs.

To bulk edit Display Names, you must have System or Enrollment access.

From the Class List page:

  1. Select the classes you want to edit the Display Names for.

  2. When you select one or more classes, click on the Actions list.

  3. Click Download classes.

  4. A users-classes.csv file containing the selected classes downloads. The CSV file contains the school ID, school name, class ID, class name, class display name, and class grade, with empty fields for all other column headers in the users.csv file.

  5. Modify this file by adding the Class Display Name and add teacher data into each row.

  6. Go to Batch Upload and upload the file.

Note: each users.csv requires the educator or student information.

IMPORTANT: Be aware that changing the Display Name of a class will be reflected in your Amplify programs. This may affect other educators using the Admin Portal as well as educators and students associated with the class.

  • Editing the Display Name will have the following effects:

    1. The Display Name entered will replace the class name in Amplify programs.

    2. In mCLASS applications, the Display Name entered will replace the class name for mCLASS aggregate and classroom reports.

  • Once entered, the Display Name for a class can be edited, but not deleted.
