Generate usernames and passwords
If Amplify login is activated, you can generate usernames and passwords for your students from the Class profile page.
NOTE: These steps generate new usernames and passwords only for students who do not have them. Students who already have usernames and passwords retain their credentials.
On the Rosters page, click Classes.
On the Class List page, select a class to open its profile page.
Click Login options.
On the Login management panel, click Amplify Login.
A list of all students in the selected class displays.
The list has three columns:

You can generate usernames and passwords for the entire class at once or for one student at a time.
Generate usernames and passwords for the entire class
In the Amplify Login tab of the Login management panel, locate the Username (E-mail) column.
Select Generate all usernames and passwords.
You can generate usernames and passwords for up to 100 students at a time. If your class has over 100 students, you can only generate usernames and passwords for individual students or regenerate your student’s existing passwords.The students’ usernames display in the Username (E-mail) column and their passwords display, masked by dots, in the Password column. Click the eye icon to view the password.
The Regenerate password button displays below the student’s password.Once the username is generated, it will be visible on the student profile page.
Generate usernames and passwords for one student at a time
In the Amplify Login tab of the Login management panel, locate the Username (E-mail) column.
Find the student whose credentials you want to generate and click Generate username and password.
The student’s username displays in the Username (E-mail) column and the student’s password displays, masked by dots, in the Password column. Click the eye icon to view the password.
The Regenerate password button displays below the student’s password.Once the username is generated, it will be visible on the student profile page.
Things to know about generating usernames and passwords
Contact Amplify Help to enable Amplify Login and username and password generation.
A unique Amplify username will be generated for your student based on their first initial and last name. Once a username has been generated, it cannot be changed.
Generating a username is optional. Students can log in with their username or email, using the same password.
If your students are rostered through a third party (such as Clever or ClassLink), they will continue to login with that service. Learn more about Amplify login options here.
