WestEd of K-12 Alliance

Dr. Pamela Spycher and the team at WestEd reviewed the Amplify Science program from an access and equity perspective and, in particular, for their use with students who are English learners. Dr.Spycher is the Director for “Leading with Learning: Systemically Transforming Teaching for English Learners” at WestEd, and was a lead writer of the California ELD Standards, ELA-ELD Framework, Science Framework, and Health Education Framework. Dr. Spycher received a doctorate in education with an emphasis in language, literacy, and culture, and a designated emphasis in second language acquisition, from the University of California, Davis.

Drew Corley

Dr. Drew Corley is a Senior Learning Scientist at Amplify, specializing in mathematics curriculum and assessment development. Dr. Corley is a National Board Certified Teacher (EA – Mathematics) with over six years of experience teaching at the high school and collegiate levels in North and South Carolina. His primary research interests include learning progressions, assessment techniques, and student understanding of rational number concepts. Dr. Corley has presented his work at national conferences and been published in peer-reviewed journals both nationally and internationally. He received a bachelor’s in mathematics and a master’s in secondary mathematics education from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and a doctorate in mathematics education from North Carolina State University.
