The mCLASS® Beginning of Year (BOY) Screener Assessment Report informs what knowledge and skills students have at the start of the new year to be ready to learn grade-level math. Also, it includes what topics or concepts might be beneficial for a whole class review or with a subset of students for small group re-engagement.
mCLASS BOY Screener Assessment Report
a. Class and Unit/Benchmark | Choose the class and unit or benchmark to load a report. If there's no data available, a report won't generate. |
b. Download and Print buttons | Once you have loaded the Assessment Report, you can download or print the report. |
c. Domain view and Item view | View the class performance organized by domain or item. |
d. Legend | Review the results key, aligned to the assessment grading scale: 0–25%, 26–50%, 51–75%, and 76–100%. |
e. Results table | Displays student results, based on the selected view (Domain or Item). |
Domain view
The Domain view displays an overview of the class’s performance organized by domain. A distribution of the Number of Students who scored in each percentage band is shown in the bar graph in the Summary section. Hovering over the bar graph shows which students are in a certain category. You can also see the Related Unit for each Domain in the curriculum.
The Domain view Results table shows the results as a raw score and a percentage.
Item view
The Item view can be used to drill down into responses related to specific standards in more detail for plan instruction. The Item view shows the distribution of incorrect and correct scores for each item. You can also see the Standards for each item and where in the curriculum the standard will be addressed.
The Item view Results table displays the scores each student received on each item along with the overall score, which is the total of the number of correct items. The concept that relates to each item is shown under the item.
You can choose to highlight correct or incorrect items.
Correct items display with a checkmark in blue.
Incorrect items display with an X in orange.
