Preview and present your screen.

Presentation Screens can help you guide and facilitate student learning by presenting activity screens to your class directly from an activity landing page.

You can find suggested teacher moves and the Student Edition (SE) PDF embedded in the screens from the preview and in presentation mode.

You can also use the Teacher Edition to support students working on print lessons. Presentation screens are also provided for every print lesson. Project the screens in the front of the room while students work on their print lesson.


Features of Preview and Presentation mode

The following features are available for both Preview and Presentation mode:

a. The section of the lesson.

b. Preview or Present in full-screen.

c. View the slide number and navigate through the screens with the arrows

d. View the Teacher Moves, Student Supports, or the Student Edition.

e. Close the Teacher Moves or the Student Edition.

f. Exit Preview or Present mode.


Previewing screens

  1. Navigate to the activity landing page. The Teacher Presentation Screens are located above Paper Resources.

  2. Click Preview.

Navigate through the screens with the arrows to see the contents and the suggested teacher moves, which typically contain instructions for teacher actions, and teacher talk.

Click the Book icon to view the Student Edition. The SE will display the most relevant page as an overlay to the presentation.


Presenting screens

  1. Navigate to the activity landing page. The Teacher Presentation Screens are located above the Paper Resources. Lessons where student devices are suggested have Student Activity Screens.

  2. Click Present.

The presentation displays in full screen.

The contents and the suggested teacher moves, with instructions for teacher actions, and teacher talk, display under the slide.

Click the Book icon to view the Student Edition. The SE will display the most relevant page as an overlay to the presentation.


Presenting the Student Edition

From any slide in presentation mode, click the Book icon to view the Student Edition. The SE displays the most relevant page as an overlay on the presentation screen, so you can view it as necessary without leaving presentation mode.

You can explore the entire SE using the back and next arrows.

Click the - icon to zoom out. Click the + icon to zoom in. Click the center icon to return to the default view.


Using the Teacher Edition to present

The Teacher Edition supports your presentations by visually summarizing the lesson's activities, offering pacing guidelines, and mapping out which presentation screens correspond with specific sections of the lesson.

  1. Navigate to the activity landing page. The Teacher Edition is located under Paper Resources.

  2. Click the Teacher Edition.

The PDF opens in a new tab.

The Lesson at a Glance gives a visual summary of the lesson's activities and pacing guidelines. It also shows which presentation screens correspond with the specific section of the lesson.

Each section of the lesson has a related Activity page in the Teacher Edition. The Activity page offers guidance on presenting the lesson to your class. It includes a material list for the activity and specific guidance for each slide such as when to play animations and suggested teacher prompts. It also provides tips for assisting students with accessibility challenges and tailoring supports to match their individual learning styles.

The Teacher Edition also shows which pages of the SE correspond to the presentation screens for easier navigation.


Copying screens

You can copy presentation screens and add the Student Edition to your presentation.

Add the Student Edition to your presentation

  1. Navigate to the lesson.

  2. Click the three-dot menu to the right of the activity title.

  3. Click Copy and Edit.

    This creates a copy of the activity and opens the copy for you to edit in the Activity Builder.

  4. Click on the title of the activity while editing to find additional options.

  5. From the bottom of the options, click + Add Student Edition.

  6. Enter the Resource Title and the link to the Student Edition.

  7. Click Save.

    The SE displays as a resource attached to the lesson. Click the pencil icon to edit the title and the link.

  8. Continue editing the screens.
