Clever Enrollment: Setting Up Clever to Sync with Amplify

How do I get information from my SIS to Amplify using Clever?

This article is intended for enrollment administrators in districts that have integrated with Clever and would like to sync their rosters from Clever to Amplify. It outlines the steps for syncing your data, and it links to the applicable Clever help center articles for each step.

  1. Connect your student information system (SIS) if you haven’t already.
    Clever Secure Sync maintains up-to-date roster information in Amplify Enrollment by securely transferring your rosters or connecting directly with your student information system (SIS). You have three sync options available for integrating your SIS with Clever:

    • Clever-Managed Auto Sync: Clever has written an integration that exports data directly from your SIS and securely transfers it to Clever. For this setup, Clever requires configured credentials to access your SIS.

    • SIS-Managed Auto Sync: Clever has partnered directly with the SIS provider to offer an automated sync option. For this setup, Clever does not require credentials or direct access to your SIS.

    • SFTP Sync: Your district pushes data to Clever via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).

  2. The sync type you choose depends on the SIS you employ and the frequency with which your enrollment records need to be refreshed.

  3. Indicate the identity provider (IdP) you would like to use for staff and student login.

  4. Add the Amplify (SSO, Rostering) app by requesting it from your Clever dashboard. From the Clever dashboard, click Applications > Request Applications and search for Amplify. Click Request App at the far right of the Amplify row.

  5. Set the sharing permissions for the data you want to share from Clever to Amplify. We recommend that you Share by Schools or Share by Rules to ensure you share only the data for schools, grades, and courses enrolling in Amplify programs.

  6. Reach out to your Amplify Customer Success partner when you have selected the data you want to share and submitted your application request. A member of Amplify’s Technical Onboarding team will review and accept your request to begin syncing your rosters with Amplify Enrollment. Once your data is synced with Amplify, your product licenses will be activated.
