What is the program's approach to assessment?

Our assessment model is based on years of research into how students learn mathematics, and particularly fractions. Our content maps out misconceptions, levels of understanding, abstractions, and how they all relate.

Each lesson presents a thoughtful sequence of tasks with well-defined learning outcomes. These same outcomes are then assessed in each corresponding practice.

How does the program assess students?

The practice for each episode delivers a rich variety of question types, and continually switches up these types as well as the learning outcomes they relate to. Once a student demonstrates proficiency with one learning outcome, they move on to subsequently more complex and abstract ones, until a large enough body of evidence is collected across all of the learning outcomes for an episode.
