How can I use Sketch Everywhere to annotate and interact with screens?

Updated over a month ago

What is Sketch Everywhere?

Sketch Everywhere is an innovative tool designed for teachers to enhance their engagement with activity screens. It allows educators to annotate and interact with screens in various creative ways, such as circling or underlining key concepts on a preview screen, or adding digital text to a student edition. These features offer new opportunities for teachers to facilitate meaningful discussions about essential topics with their students.

How do I add Sketch Everywhere?

Desmos Labs

You can activate Sketch Everywhere by selecting Desmos Labs (link opens to new tab) from the dropdown menu and then clicking the check mark.

After logging in, Amplify Desmos Math sign-in users can access Desmos Labs. They can do so by clicking on the Desmos Lab link that appears as a footer on their home screen.

How do I use Sketch Everywhere?

Once activated in your account, the Sketch Everywhere toolset will be accessible in multiple locations, including teacher presentation screens, student preview screens, student editions, the Teacher dashboard tab, and the Student dashboard tab.

The current toolkit includes a sketch tool, a text tool, a clear-all button, and color change options.

Sketches will stick to screens they are drawn on, but will not save across different tabs or modes. Switching between dashboard tabs or closing an activity session and reopening it will automatically erase the sketches you added.
