My Content is a space in the Amplify platform where teachers can view, edit, teach, and assign their custom content.

How to Use My Content

How to Get to My Content:

Teachers access My Content through their Programs and Apps menu in the global navigation.

What should I expect to see in My Content?

First-time My Content users:

If it’s your first time using My Content, you will see a Welcome screen.

Reminder: If it’s not your first time using My Content, you can open the Welcome screen by clicking ? in the upper right of the screen.

Returning My Content Users:

If you have used My Content before, you can see your custom content items here.

Amplify Math Teacher Experience:

Who Will Receive My Content:

All teachers licensed to 6th–8th grade, Accelerated 6th, Accelerated 7th, or Algebra 1 courses will receive My Content.

How to Use My Content:

If you’re a first-time user, you will see a message on the Welcome screen that instructs you to either learn more or get started.

If you have used My Content before but don’t have any custom assessments created, you will encounter a message prompting you to learn more.

To create custom content:

  1. Click Create assessment.

  2. You will be taken to Custom Assessments, where you can create your own assessments.

Using custom content

Once you have created your own custom content in your My Content section, you can use the following features:

My Content Filter and Search:

  • On the left panel, you can filter by Status, Type, and Subject:

    • Status: Learn more here.

    • Type: Math-only teachers will only see My Assessment.

    • Subject: Math-only teachers will see Math.

  • The Search by feature enables you to search by Standards or Keyword:

    • Standards: Only math standards are searchable here.

    • Keyword: You can search using a tag, if you created a tag while creating your custom assessment.

My Content Statuses:

  • Draft: If you have started but not published a Custom Assessment, you will see that item saved as a Draft. In Draft status, you can:

    • Edit: Edit your custom assessment.

    • Copy: Make a copy of your custom assessment.

  • Published: After you have clicked Publish in Custom Assessment, you will see that item in My Content marked as Published. In Published status, you can:

    • View Details: Review information about this custom assessment including which class you have assigned it to. You can also unassign custom assessments here. Additionally, you can review any keyword added or any standards tagged to the custom assessment.

    • Teach: Open the custom assessment in the Teacher Guide view and pull your students into the custom assessment by clicking Start Class.

    • Assign: Assign your custom assessment to your class.

    • Edit: Edit your custom assessment.

    • Copy: Make a copy of your custom assessment.

  • Student Work: Once students have submitted work for the custom assessment, you will see that item marked as Student Work. In Student Work status, you can:

    • View Details: Review information about this custom assessment including which class you have assigned it to. You can also unassign custom assessments here. Additionally, you can review any keyword added or any standards tagged to the custom assessment.

    • Teach: Open the custom assessment in the Teacher Guide view and pull your students into the custom assessment by clicking Start Class.

    • Assign: Assign your custom assessment to your class.

    • Copy: Make a copy of your custom assessment.

Teachers will not be able to edit custom content once it has the Student Work status.

Teachers can access these functionalities from the three-dots Menu.

View Details

In the View Details panel, you can see the following:

  • Title

  • Description

  • Tags associated with the items in the custom assessment (e.g., standards, question type, etc.)

  • Assignments: You can edit your assignment and unassign from here.

Teach

When you click Teach, it takes you to your Teacher Guide view. From here, you can choose to Start Class or View Work.

Assign

In the Assign panel, you can edit the assignment’s due date and time, which class it is assigned to, and when it is scheduled to be released to students.

Student view and access

Once you have assigned a custom assessment to your students, the students will receive a notification in their curriculum app Notification bell.

Now, the students should also see the assignment in their Assignments stream.

From the Assignments stream, they can click Start to navigate to the custom assessment.

The digital experience (K–5 CKLA and/or K–5 Science): Teacher experience

If you have used My Content but you don’t have any copied lessons or custom lessons, you will encounter a message prompting you to learn more.

To create your own copied lesson or custom lesson, click Get Lesson Slides from your lesson overview.

This will take you through the steps to create your copied lesson or custom lesson with the MyAmplify for Google add-on.

Click Save to Amplify in Google Slides to see your lessons in the My Content space.

You can filter My Content by Status, Type, and Subject:

  • Status: Learn more here.

  • Type: An educator with a digital experience license might only see My Lessons.

  • Subject: An educator with a digital experience license might only see Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), Science Elementary, or Custom Lesson.

My Content Statuses:

  • Draft: Once you have copied an Amplify lesson, you will see it in My Content. Until it is published, the status will be Draft. In Draft status, you can edit and customize your lesson. This will open in your Google Slides.

  • Published: After you have clicked Save to Amplify from MyAmplify for Google Slides, that lesson will display as Published. In Published status, you can:

    • View Details: Review information about your lesson, including which class you have assigned it to. You can also unassign a lesson here.

    • Teach: Open the custom assessment in the Teacher Guide view and pull your students into the custom assessment by clicking Start Class.

    • Assign: Assign your custom assessment to your class.

    • Edit: Edit and customize your lesson. This will open in your Google Slides.

A teacher’s custom slides will save year over year in My Content. Saved student data from one academic year will not be available the following year.

View Details

In the View Details panel, you can see the following:

  • Title

  • Assignments: You can edit your assignment from here.

To unassign something, you can use the View Details panel to access that assignment record.

Teach

When you click Teach, it takes you to your Teacher Guide view. From here, you can choose to Start Class or View Work, if there is student work associated with the lesson.

Student view and access

Once you have assigned a lesson to your students, those students will receive the notification in Student Home and be able to navigate there.

Now, the students should also see the assignment in their Assignments stream.

Click Start Class to pull your students into any custom lesson.
