Amplify OneRoster CSV Upload Portal: Exporting Your Data

How do I add an export app and export my data to Amplify?

Adding an Export App to the Amplify OneRoster CSV Upload Portal

Export apps take the enrollment data records uploaded to the Amplify OneRoster CSV Upload Portal and send them to the enrollment systems for your Amplify products. You will be asked to give Amplify permission to access your specific data attributes when you activate these apps, so you must add an Import app and complete an import before installing your Export apps.

The enrollment needs for our products vary, so two Export apps are available:

  • Amplify - Exports data into the enrollment system for all Amplify programs.

  • Amplify mCLASS - Exports data into the enrollment system for mCLASS only.

The Amplify mCLASS app is only available for returning mCLASS institutions; exports to the Amplify app now enroll staff and students into mCLASS.

  1. Click the Application Gallery icon in the left navigation panel.

  2. The Application Gallery opens. Click Export, and you will see two tiles.

  3. Click Activate on the tile(s) for the app(s) you want to install.

  4. Configure the app you just activated:

    1. Amplify (Amplify enrollment)

    2. Amplify mCLASS (mCLASS-only enrollment)

Amplify

After you click Activate on the Amplify tile, you are taken to a page where you give Amplify consent to access your data. Required attributes have gray boxes and cannot be removed; however, you can clear the blue selection boxes to prevent oversharing of your enrollment data.

  1. Review the list of schools. You can clear the box to the left of any school that is not licensed to your Core Curriculum and Supplementals products. If you are only licensed to middle school ELA, for example, you can clear the box to the left of elementary schools and high schools, and those schools will not be exported as part of your Amplify enrollment.

  2. We recommend keeping all the selections in the Attributes window, but you can click a tab in the top row to review the attributes that are sent for schools, students, teachers, classes, enrollments, and administrators.

  3. Similarly to when you set up your Import app, you can set up Filter Rules to include records based on one or more specific attributes.

  4. No attachments are necessary to complete Amplify Enrollment exports.

  5. Finally, you must provide an expiration date for the export app, which should be after all your schools have completed all instruction at the end of the upcoming academic year. Click the Calendar icon, choose a year and month, and select the date when you want the app to expire.

  6. Click Activate. A summary of the number of schools and granted attributes displays.

  7. Click Send Request to send your consents to Amplify.

  8. When you set up your export, the consents will need to be acknowledged and approved by an Amplify Technical Onboarding administrator. The Amplify app will display the label “Pending approval” until this approval is processed.

  9. Once the approval is processed, the label on the app changes from "Pending" to "Active", your first export occurs automatically, and the Overview dashboard displays.

  10. After Amplify approves your data request, additional work will be done to set up your district's enrollment, licensing, and authentication. Your Amplify Customer Success partner will contact you with next steps when this work is complete.

Amplify mCLASS

After you click Activate on the Amplify mCLASS tile, you will be taken to a page where you give Amplify consent to access your data. Required attributes have gray boxes and cannot be removed; however, you can clear the blue selection boxes to prevent oversharing of your enrollment data.

  1. Review the list of schools. You can clear the box to the left of any school that is not licensed to mCLASS. As mCLASS is typically for K-6 students, you can clear the box to the left of any middle schools and high schools where mCLASS will not be implemented, and those schools will not be exported as part of your mCLASS enrollment.

  4. No attachments are necessary to complete Amplify mCLASS Enrollment exports.

The Amplify mCLASS app will display the label “Pending approval” until this approval is processed.
